🥬Celery
What it is
Celery — including the root (celeriac), stalks, leaves and seeds — is one of the 14 EU-regulated allergens, and is a more prominent allergy in parts of continental Europe than in English-speaking countries.
Where it hides
Beyond fresh celery, it hides in stock cubes, soups, spice mixes, celery salt, and some sausages and processed meats.
Safety note
EU law requires celery to be declared on packaged food labels whenever it's used as an ingredient, even in small amounts.
