🐟Fish
What it is
Fish is one of the 14 EU-regulated allergens. A fish allergy is often lifelong and is a reaction to proteins present across most fish species, so people with a fish allergy are usually advised to avoid all fish.
Where it hides
Beyond obvious fish dishes, fish appears in Worcestershire sauce, some Caesar dressings, fish sauce in Asian cuisine, and gelatine derived from fish in some products.
Safety note
EU law requires fish to be declared on packaged food labels whenever it's used as an ingredient, even in small amounts.
Not medical advice: Informational only, not medical advice. If you suspect a food allergy, consult a qualified healthcare professional for diagnosis and guidance.
