🌭Mustard
What it is
Mustard — the seeds, leaves or prepared condiment — is one of the 14 EU-regulated allergens, and is a common trigger in cuisines that use it heavily as a spice or condiment.
Where it hides
Beyond the condiment itself, mustard hides in salad dressings, marinades, mayonnaise, curry powders, and some processed meats and pickles.
Safety note
EU law requires mustard to be declared on packaged food labels whenever it's used as an ingredient, even in small amounts.
