  1. 1Gently press tofu to remove excess water, then cut into 8 equal cubes and lightly coat each cube with potato starch.
  2. 2Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C) and carefully fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  3. 3While tofu fries, whisk together dashi stock, soy sauce, and mirin in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. 4Remove fried tofu from oil, drain briefly on paper towels, then arrange in serving bowls and pour the hot dashi broth over them.
  5. 5Garnish immediately with a spoonful of grated daikon radish and thinly sliced green onion.
